Opening officially on Monday 24th November, our SEND Room is a calm, sensory-friendly space designed to support diverse learning needs, wellbeing and confidence in the gym.
SEND Room
A safe, supportive space for SEND gymnasts
Our SEND Room has been created to provide a dedicated, low-arousal environment for gymnasts and visitors who benefit from quieter, more controlled spaces alongside the main gym.
Our brand new SEND Room opens officially on Monday 24th November and is already taking bookings. Designed to support diverse learning needs, it provides a safe, sensory-friendly space tailored for focus, relaxation and creativity. Whether it's for therapy or group activities, it’s perfect for individuals or small groups.
The space sits within our purpose-built facility at Penzance Gymnastics Club, giving gymnasts and families the option of stepping away from the main gym when needed, while still feeling part of the club environment.
We welcome children, young people and adults who may benefit from:
- A quieter space away from noise and crowds
- More predictable, structured sensory input
- Time to regulate and reset between activities
- Smaller group or 1:1 support alongside gym sessions

Cushions, mats and sensory resources to create a safe, comfortable area for movement, rest or focused activities.

Ideal for one-to-one sessions, siblings, small friendship groups or supported visits alongside main gym classes.
Flexible layouts
The room can be adapted for calm time, structured activities, therapy-style sessions or sensory breaks between gym rotations.
Supportive staff team
Our team are SEND-aware and work closely with families to understand individual needs, preferences and communication styles.
Part of the PZGC pathway
The SEND Room sits alongside our main gym, so gymnasts can access both specialist support and wider club opportunities.
Sessions & Booking
How to book the SEND Room
Our SEND Room is available for a range of sessions – all booked simply and securely via the Coacha app.
Session types
- Individual SEND sessions – 1:1 time in the room, with or without linked gymnastics activity.
- Small group sessions – ideal for siblings, friends or shared interests where a quieter space is helpful.
- Calm / regulation breaks – time away from the main gym to reset, relax and prepare to return to activity.
- Professionals & therapists – by arrangement, the room can be used in partnership with external professionals.
